Irene Pazos

Irene has been working in the biomedical field since 2012, when she began her scientific career in the communication department of the biotechnology company Amgen.

She later joined the Developmental Neurobiology and Regeneration group at the Universitat de Barcelona (UB), where she made contributions to a project aimed at understanding the molecular mechanisms of Glioblastoma tumour growth. Irene advanced her academic journey by undertaking PhD research, followed by a recent postdoctoral position focusing on membrane trafficking in the Live-Cell Structural Biology laboratory at the Institute for Research in Biomedicine (IRB) and the Universitat Pompeu Fabra (UPF). She culminated her research during an EMBO Fellowship at Osaka University.

The results of her work have been presented at various conferences and published in peer-reviewed journals.
