Vaccine Monitoring Collaboration for Europe (VAC4EU) gathered 60 attendees from all over Europe to celebrate its first in-person General Assembly Meeting on 7-8 November. Teamit Institute hosted this event in its offices in the stunning modernist site of Sant Pau.
VAC4EU is an international association of 25 research and public health institutions that leads safety and effectiveness monitoring of COVID-19 vaccines. VAC4EU originated from ADVANCE, a project funded by the Innovative Medicines Initiative that aimed to implement a collaborative monitoring of vaccines.
The modernist site of Sant Pau, which is home to Teamit Institute’s office, was the chosen venue. The two-day event revolved around finding synergies between the different working groups in the project and to enhance the workflow among the different studies. Eva Molero (VAC4EU’s Executive Board Member, and Teamit Research’s CEO) stressed how “meeting face to face with the VAC4EU members has shown the great opportunities for collaboration and the strength of the network. We left the meeting energized and ready for what there is to come.”
The event allowed participants to look back on all the project successes and assess its growth throughout the last twelve months. The discussions were also centered in identifying the challenges and targeting improvements and objectives for the future. Gianmarco Di Mauro (VAC4EU’s Business Development Manager, and Teamit Research’s Head of Partnerships) described the event as “a great opportunity to debate on the work that’s been done so far by the association and to look forward to the challenges that lay ahead”.
