At Teamit we are proud to announce our involvement in the IHI RealiseD project, an initiative that promises to revolutionise the landscape of clinical trials for ultra-rare diseases. With a €17 million budget, RealiseD unites nearly 40 organisations, including renowned experts and industry professionals from across Europe, all working together to develop innovative solutions for clinical trials in ultra-rare disease areas.

As proud partners of this ambitious project, Teamit has been closely involved from proposal preparation. In the implementation phase, our team of experts will play a pivotal role in project management and communication. We will also contribute to stakeholder engagement and to the conceptualisation and development of easy-to-use Playbooks based on our previous experience including the creation of the Data Sharing Playbook. These interactive Playbooks will foster the wide adoption of tools and resources developed by RealiseD.
Mission-Driven Collaboration
The mission of RealiseD is to bring together a diverse array of expertise—from clinicians and methodologists to pharmaceutical industry researchers, patient organisations, regulatory agencies, and HTA bodies. This collaborative approach aims to:
- Develop Cutting-Edge Tools: Through the co-creation of operational and methodological resources, RealiseD will pioneer solutions to streamline the clinical trial process.
- Establish Clinical Trial Networks: In partnership with European Reference Networks (ERNs), RealiseD will establish a network of clinical trial sites, improving patient enrolment and expanding access to trials across Europe. ERNs will also test tools and solutions generated by the project in four use cases – paediatric epilepsy, bone disorders, eye disease, and haematology.
- Accelerate Therapeutic Development: By enhancing clinical trial processes, RealiseD will help expedite the development of therapies for rare diseases, particularly benefiting the 30 million people across Europe living with ultra-rare conditions.
- Set New Standards of Excellence: The project aims to establish new benchmarks for clinical trials in rare and ultra-rare diseases, with the collaboration of nearly 40 public and private organisations.
