It is quarter past ten on a sunny Saturday morning in April. Plaça Nova, opposite Barcelona Cathedral, is already busy with participants gathering for the Magic Line. Around 20 Teamit colleagues, together with family members and partners, are preparing for a 9-kilometre walk from the city centre to the Museu Nacional d’Art de Catalunya (MNAC).

This is Teamit’s third year taking part in the fundraising initiative organised by Fundació Sant Joan de Déu. Under the theme Som el que compartim (“We are what we share”), the event raises funds for social projects in areas including mental health, homelessness, disability, childhood and research. In the weeks beforehand, TeamitChef, a company baking competition, raised donations for the cause. Following two rounds of voting, Guillermina Taboada won with a lime cheesecake.

After a group photo, participants set off through the Gothic Quarter and towards Port Vell. The route quickly breaks the larger group into smaller clusters, with conversations continuing as walkers move at their own pace. At the first refreshment stop, volunteers provide water, fruit and activities for participants.

From there, the route heads into Montjuïc, passing through several gardens and offering views across the port. The climb is one of the more demanding sections of the walk, although live music along the route helps maintain the atmosphere.

As participants continue through Montjuïc, the finish line gradually comes into view. Before the final stretch, the team stops at the Magic Line Party, where volunteers and performers welcome walkers approaching the end of the route.

Shortly after one o’clock, Teamit reaches the finish area at the MNAC. After almost three hours of walking in warm spring weather, participants take the opportunity to rest, reflect on the day and celebrate a shared contribution to the fundraising effort.
