BSc in Biology (Pompeu Fabra University, Barcelona), MSc in Pharmaceutical Industry and Biotechnology (Pompeu Fabra University, Barcelona), PhD in Biomedicine (University of Barcelona).
Irene has been working in the biomedical field since 2012 when she started her scientific career in the communication department of the biotechnology company Amgen.
Then she moved to the Developmental Neurobiology and Regeneration group (UB), where she participated in a project to understand Glioblastoma tumour growth’s molecular mechanisms. Afterwards, Irene conducted her PhD research and recently held a postdoctoral position in membrane trafficking in the Live-Cell Structural Biology laboratory (IRB and UFP). She completed her research during her EMBO Fellowship at Osaka University. The fruit of her work has been presented at different conferences and published in peer-reviewed journals.
Irene joined Teamit as Junior Study Manager in 2024.
