Sarai Rodríguez Navarro

Senior Project Manager

Sarai boasts over 15 years of experience in the medical-scientific field which she started while still a student, working at the 061 healthcare emergency service. She furthered her expertise by engaging in preclinical research during her PhD, and progressing into various science management roles thereafter.

During her six-year tenure at the Vall d’Hebron Research Institute (VHIR), Sarai conducted preclinical studies aimed at discovering new treatments for cirrhosis and portal hypertension. She also completed research stages in Budapest (Hungary), Belfast (UK), and Bern (Switzerland).

Transitioning from biomedical research, Sarai served as a scientific editor at Multidisciplinary Digital Publishing Institute (MDPI) and later moved to the Centre for the Integration of MedTech Innovation in Catalonia (CIMTI) as an innovation project manager. During the Covid-19 pandemic, she contributed to the development of the Janssen vaccine as a Medical Information Specialist. More recently, Sarai joined EU-PEARL, an IMI project aimed at transforming clinical trials in Europe to accelerate drug development, where she held the position of scientific project manager. She later enhanced her academic contributions by serving as an associate teacher at the Universitat Oberta de Catalunya (UOC).
