Teamit has released its 2024 Annual Report, showcasing a year of significant expansion and strategic focus within the European health research ecosystem. The report underscores Teamit’s increased engagement in critical areas, alongside substantial internal and external growth.
The past year saw Teamit decisively broaden its scientific portfolio, initiating new projects in rare diseases, stroke, and enzyme technology, and venturing into light-based therapies.
This expansion increased the organisation’s active project count from six to nine, supported by a 25% growth in its workforce, which encompasses enhanced expertise in project management, scientific writing, communications, and regulatory science.
Eva Molero, Founder and CEO of Teamit, emphasised the enduring principles guiding the organisation: “Our DNA has remained intact: foresight that anticipates scientific trends, a positive attitude that turns challenges into opportunities, teamwork that binds multidisciplinary consortia together, and an uncompromising commitment to excellence.” She noted that these core values have been instrumental in navigating a year characterised by impactful delivery, organizational maturity, and the forging of international partnerships.
Consolidating excellence and expanding reach
Internally, Teamit’s commitment to operational excellence was reaffirmed with the renewal of its ISO 9001 certification for an additional three-year term, following a rigorous external audit. This milestone was accompanied by the launch of a comprehensive career development plan, reinforcing the organisation’s dedication to team growth and professional advancement. In parallel, Teamit also enhanced its communications capabilities, growing its unit to provide more strategic dissemination for large European health projects.
Looking outwards, Teamit’s network of partners grew to over 300 organisations across Europe and beyond, solidifying its role in facilitating cross-border scientific collaboration, particularly through major initiatives like ERDERA in rare diseases and UMBRELLA in stroke.
Teamit further cemented its role in pharmacoepidemiology, by supporting the management of The European Pharmacoepidemiology and Pharmacovigilance Research Network (EU PE&PV), and continuing its ongoing collaboration with Vaccine monitoring collaboration for Europe (VAC4EU). Moreover, Teamit was included in the newly launched electronic Catalogues of real-world data (RWD) by the European Medicines Agency and the Heads of Medicines Agencies.
Molero concluded, “Our portfolio expanded across major European partnerships, while our team grew more diverse and skilled. Those values—foresight, teamwork and excellence—will continue to guide us as we support the research community tackle the issues that matter most to patients and society.”
Setting the course for 2025
Five years since its founding, Teamit has evolved from project management into a multidisciplinary partner offering expert guidance across the entire research lifecycle—from proposal writing to sustainability, communications and outreach, multi-stakeholder management and governance, regulatory science, training, and more. This integrated approach is driven by Teamit’s foresight, collaborative spirit, and pursuit of excellence, as outlined in our 2023–2025 Strategic Plan.
Looking ahead, we are preparing to draft our 2026–2029 strategic roadmap, continuing to build on our strengths and reaffirming our commitment to empowering collaborative research and innovation for a healthier future.
