Last week, Teamit Senior Scientific Officer Fabio Riefolo, presented at the 25th Anniversary Meeting of the International Society for Pharmacovigilance (ISoP), held in Cairo and online.
As part of the session “What’s New from North America and the EU” alongside representatives from the European Medicines Agency (EMA) and Health Canada, Fabio presented the European Framework for Post-Authorisation Vaccine Safety Monitoring Using Real-World Data (SAFETY-VAC project).
Led by UMC Utrecht and facilitated by the EU PE&PV Research Network and VAC4EU – Vaccine Monitoring Collaboration for Europe, SAFETY-VAC is developing and validating methodologies to assess how fit-for-purpose EU electronic health record data is in generating evidence on vaccine coverage and safety monitoring.
Fabio’s contribution underscored Teamit’s role in advancing real-world data (RWD) approaches to support stronger post-authorisation vaccine safety monitoring and promote collaborative innovation in pharmacovigilance.
The session offered a valuable opportunity to engage with global leaders and explore how innovation, collaboration, and RWD are shaping the future of drug and vaccine safety.
