Teamit Institute will be at the ICPE 2022 (International Conference of Pharmacoepidemiology) next 24-28th of August to present the poster “Conducting Observational Multi-Country Studies for Regulatory Decision Making During COVID-19 Pandemic: The Strategic Role of The Scientific Project Manager”. Main author, Natasha Yefimenko and co-authors Fabio Riefolo, Katica Boric, Gianmarco Di Mauro and Eva Molero will represent Teamit in this Conference, organised by IPSE (International Society for Pharmacoepidemiology) which will take place in Copenhagen (Denmark).
Their poster presentation will focus on the identification of management challenges in the design and execution of post-authorisation safety studies (PASS) during the COVID-19 pandemics and will give an overview of optimal methodological procedures for agile management that are also compliant with regulatory requirements.

A comprehensive programme with 3 plenary sessions
This ICPE edition will focus on “Advancing Pharmacoepidemiology and Real-World Evidence for the Global Community”. The programme includes multiple presentations, workshops, symposia, courses and 3 plenary sessions. A keynote from Dr. Søren Brostrøm, Director General of the Danish Health Authority will open the first plenary session on Friday 26th. Dr Brostrøm will deliver a speech on “Strategies for Successful Mass Vaccination Rollout: Balancing Science, Politics, Communication and Trust” where he will discuss the Danish experience, but also draw on international perspectives.

The second plenary session “Updates from the COVID-19 Pharmacoepidemiological Battlefield: Recent Victories and Battles Ahead” lead by Professor Anton Pottegård (University of Southern Denmark) will touch on contributions, challenges and learnings in pharmacoepidemiology during the COVID-19 pandemic. Professor Daniel Prieto-Alhambra (University of Oxford), J Bradley Layton (RTI Health Solutions), Professor Miriam Sturkenboom (University Medical Center Utrecht) and Catherine Cohet (European Medicines Agency) will also intervene in this session on August 27th.
A final keynote session “How Can We Mitigate Publication of Poorly Conducted RWE Studies?” presented by Professor Almut Winterstein (University of Florida) on Sunday 28th will focus on the contribution of pharmacoepidemiology to better governance of RWE studies.
